Our fellowship hall was buzzing with activity on April 23rd as about 70 members and friends of St. Giles packaged 10,000 meals with Rise Against Hunger -- great job! And did you know that we paid for all that food too?  We did!  The church budgeted the first $2,000 of the $4,000 needed to purchase the soy, rice, and vegetables and help with shipping.  Through your generosity, we are well on the way to meeting our fundraising goal but still need donations — You can donate to the church by noting Rise Against Hunger in the check or electronic transfer memo line.

We have partnered With Rise Against Hunger since at least 2015 with food packing events (and we donated funds even in a pandemic year when gathering to pack meals wasn't possible). Food packaging is just one way that Rise Against Hunger is working to end food insecurity by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies, so check out their website or contact Lori Coble (lori.coble@gmail.com) or Tom Augspurger (jillandtom@aol.com) if you'd like to learn more or get more deeply engaged.
