Children enjoy Christian Education and Mission programs designed especially for them, giving them an opportunity to put their knowledge of God to work in their lives, and in the lives of others in the community. Infants and toddlers are well cared for in a pleasant nursery staffed by trained and responsible professionals. The purpose of the Children’s Ministry program is to nurture the children and to educate them about the "Good News" of Jesus Christ. Through the Children's Ministry, the church provides opportunities for our children to learn about Christian community through experience, fulfilling the pledge made by Presbyterian congregations whenever a child is baptized. The Children's Ministry at St. Giles consists of a nursery for infants, and Christian Education for toddlers and older children.
Nursery Children are cared for in our nursery in the Children’s Center on Sunday mornings. For the well being of all, children must be fever and infection-free in order to be placed in the nursery. Parents will be contacted to pick up their children who become ill during the time they are in the nursery.
For children from birth through 24 months nursery care is available from 8:45am – 12:15 pm in the Children’s Center. It is staffed by regular trained sitters who work with member volunteers.
For children who are 2 - 3 years old nursery care is available during both worship times in the Children’s Center. It is staffed by member volunteers. During the Christian Education hour, 2-3 year olds are encouraged to participate in Faith NET. | Christian EducationTwo Children's Christian Education classes are held from 9:45 - 10:45 each Sunday from September through May in the St. Giles Children's Center These classes are scheduled between the Contemporary Worship service and the Traditional Worship service.

April 14 Emmaus Walk 2.0
During Christian Education, our children reflected on the Emmaus Walk. We talked about how storytelling both orally and in the Bible help us remember the time that these friends saw Jesus the first time after His resurrection. They worked in pairs to develop their very creative version of how the walk might be told today as a digital story. They used a free web-based tool, GoAnnimate, to illustrate. Group 1Group 2

September 2012 - Learning About Paul
In September, Faith T.R.E.K. will learn about Saul's conversion (Acts 9:1-19). During the workshops, the children will see that God can transform lives, anyone can be called to do God's work, and God used Saul to teach about the love of Jesus Christ. The memory verse for the month is "When anyone is joined to Christ, he is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

| Kids4Missions is the children of St. Giles age 4-5th grade who meet monthly for a hands-on mission project. Each month as they work together they remember their mission verse: "Friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." 1 John 4:11 Our music program helps children understand and appreciate traditional and modern Christian music. From September through May, the children participate in music during the Sunday School hour. The children share their talents with the congregation during worship several times a year.
