Senior Adults

Prime Timers
Prime Timers invites adults 50 years and older to gather for fellowship.  The group meets regularly for a pot luck lunch in the Youth Center following worship on the first Sunday of each month from September through May.

The group takes pleasure in a variety of other outings.  The group has very much enjoyed several out of town trips.  They are always open to new ideas for adventures.

Updates

  • We're going digital. Information from the newsletter will be posted here as well as in the newsletter.
  • December Update

The Raleigh Moravian Church Music Program on December 1 was attended by Jean Rick, Charolette Brown, Janet Wherry and Les Seitz. Other St.Giles members seen at the program were Joy and Sarah Goldsberry and Dave and Jean Smith. Brenda Fernandez, our organist, was also there. The singing was beautiful.

    • On December 14, Mac McRackan, Inez Ruchte, and Anne Hales went with Janet Wherry to see her play clarinet in her first concert with the Cary Town Band.
    • On Dec. 16, Inez Ruchte and Janet Wherry attended the Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church Christmas Program.
    • On December 18, Jean Rick, Anne Hales, Mac McRackan, and Janet Wherry have plans to hear the Army Ground Forces Band.

We had around 40 participants for our church-wide potluck on December 2. We were pleased with the turnout. Tim Hoyt offered the prayer.  Inez Ruchte announced December birthdays: Bill Maxwell, Mary Bell Hall, Peg Kapp, and Jesus.  Phill Stiles accompanied the singing of Happy Birthday and played background music on the hammered dulcimer. Thanks to Chris, Bill, and Jason Maxwell for setting the tables up, decorating them, and helping in the kitchen.

Our next potluck will be Sunday, Jan.6, 2013. Tim Hoyt will present a brief talk on the Encore program for lifelong learning at NC State.  Start planning your covered dish and let's have a big turnout for the first potluck of the year.  Hope to see you there!
