Ministries of the Church

Listed here are the five ministries of Saint Giles and the active elders who are called by God and elected by the congregation to serve on the Session.  In the Presbyterian Church, USA the Session is the governing body of the local and follows the PCUSA Book of Order in fulfilling their duties.  When elected by the congregation, elders provide Saint Giles with a three year term of active service.  A class of elders representing one third of the session, is elected annually. An elder is an ordained position in the Presbyterian Church. After being ordained and serving in an active role, elders still play an important part of the day to day life and ministries of the church and may return to the session in an active role.  Visit What We Believe for more information about the mission, theology and governance of the Presbyterian Church, USA.
