National Mission Trip will be returning to work with West Virginia Ministry of
Advocacy and Workcamps (WVMAW) June 23 through 29. This year we will go to
Montgomery, WV, which is a similar area to where we have gone previously to Dry
Creek and Colcord. It is a small town environment rather than a rural setting,
but the needs are similar. Our focus will be home repair for those who have
been affected by storms and/or elderly people who cannot do repairs themselves
and cannot afford to hire others to help them.
brochures are available at the back of the church. We are looking for
participants to go to WV, as well as prayer partners and others who can help in
the planning and preparation for the trip.

We have begun planning for the 2013 Mission Trip this summer within the US, but outside Wake County. Options being considered include returning to West Virginia where we have established a relationship on three previous trips, or we may work on a hurricane restoration project somewhere on the Atlantic coast, within driving distance of Raleigh, either in NC, or further up the Atlantic coast. Additional information will provided in the weeks and months ahead, as we learn more about our options.
Anyone who is interested in participating in the trip, or in the planning, please contact Bob Lindsay or Denise Stevenson. And/or attend the first planning meeting scheduled for February 17 in the Fellowship Hall between worship services.
You are invited to a special Valentine's Day celebration VALENTINE'S DAY (Thursday, February 14th, 6:00)!! Catered by Milton's Pizza
and Pasta, dinner will include lasagne, tossed salad, bread, dessert, and drink--all for $8.50 per person (youth can eat for $4.25; there is no charge for children under age 2).
Please sign up by contacting the church office or completing a lilac form in your bulletin

Calling all chili cooks! The youth will be hosting their annual chili cook-off on Thursday, January 10th from 6-7pm. Bring your favorite pot of chili, give it a fun name, and you'll have a chance to be named the Chili Champion.
If you prefer to eat chili, we need lots of eaters too! For a donation to the youth special programs, you can sample all the varieties and vote for your favorite.
Sign up on the lilac form in the Messenger or contact the church office.
The St. Giles choir and instrumentalists will share their Christmas Cantata with us, and also our confirmation class will be officially joining the church, so it'll be an extra special service. Afterwards, we invite you to join us in the Fellowship Hall for our annual Christmas reception. Please bring a "finger food" to share.
Your 2013 envelopes are available in the narthex. If you made an estimate of giving for 2013, you should have a box of envelopes in your name. If you don’t see your box, or if you would like to receive envelopes, contact the church office. Please help save postage costs & pick yours up today.
